Julia Jones, born on January 23, 1981, is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles in popular movies and TV shows. Many people know her as Leah Clearwater from The Twilight Saga film series. She also played Angela Bishop in the TV series Dexter: New Blood.

Early Life and Education

Julia Jones was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Her parents are Frank Jones and Penny Wells. She has a younger brother named Cody. Julia has shared that her mother is from England. Her father has Choctaw, Chickasaw, and African-American heritage. She grew up in the Jamaica Plain area of Boston. She often visited the first JP Licks ice cream shop, which was near her home.

Julia started studying at the Boston Ballet School when she was only four years old. By the age of eight, she began working in commercials and local plays. In 1999, Julia graduated from Boston Latin School. This is the oldest public school in the United States. After high school, she went to Columbia University. She earned her bachelor's degree in English in 2005.

It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. She also played Dr. Kaya Montoya on the TV show ER during its last two seasons. In 2009, she performed in a play called Palestine, New Mexico in Los Angeles.

In 2010, Julia was cast in the movie Jonah Hex. She also joined the cast of The Twilight Saga for its last three movies. In 2015, she starred alongside Adam Sandler in the movie The Ridiculous 6. She also played Gab in the Netflix series Longmire. In 2019, she was a guest star on the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. She appeared in the episode "Chapter 4: Sanctuary." In 2024, she played Chafa in the miniseries Echo. Chafa was the first Choctaw character in the series.
