Julián Andrés Quiñones Quiñones (born on March 24, 1997) is a talented professional football player. He plays as a forward or winger for the Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah. Julián was born in Colombia, but he proudly represents the Mexico national team in international games.

Julián Quiñones' Club Journey

Starting in Colombia

Julián Quiñones began his football journey in Cali, Colombia, at a local academy called Futbol Paz. He was a fantastic scorer, netting 50 goals in 38 matches during the 2014–15 season. This amazing talent caught the eye of Tigres UANL, a big club that brought him to their under-20 team.

First Professional Steps

In 2016, Julián went on loan to Venados, a club in Mexico's second division, Ascenso MX. He made his professional debut on January 19, 2016, and even scored two goals in a Copa MX match! Later, in June 2017, he joined Lobos BUAP on loan for a year. He became one of the top scorers in the Apertura 2017 tournament with nine goals. He continued his great scoring streak with eight more goals in the Clausura 2018 tournament.

Success with Atlas

In June 2021, Julián joined Atlas on loan. His move became permanent six months later. With Atlas, Julián helped the team win two league titles in a row! This was a huge achievement, as it ended the club's 70-year wait for a championship.

Time with América

In July 2023, Julián moved to América. During his time there, he won two more league titles, bringing his personal total to six championships!

Moving to Al-Qadsiah

In June 2024, Julián Quiñones joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah. This move was for a reported fee of $16 million, making him the most expensive player ever sold by a Mexican club. He had an incredible 2024–25 season, scoring 20 goals. On May 21, 2026, Julián scored three goals in one game (a hat-trick!) during a 5–1 win against Al-Ittihad. He finished the 2025–26 season as the league's top scorer with an amazing 33 goals! He even renewed his contract with Al-Qadsiah until 2029.

Playing for His Country

Representing Colombia

Julián Quiñones played for Colombia's youth teams, including the 2017 South American U-20 Championship and the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games. He even won a gold medal with the team at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 2018. However, after living in Mexico since he was 17, he later decided to represent Mexico instead of Colombia's senior team.

Playing for Mexico

In September 2023, Julián joined the training camp for the Mexican national team. He became a Mexican citizen in October 2023 and was called up to play for Mexico the very next month. His first game for Mexico was on November 17, 2023, in a CONCACAF Nations League match against Honduras. He scored his first goal for Mexico on March 21, 2024, during a CONCACAF Nations League semi-final against Panama. Mexico won that match 3–0. Julián was part of the 26-player squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which Mexico co-hosted. On June 11, 2026, he scored the first goal of the entire tournament in a 2–0 win against South Africa. He was even named Man of the Match for his performance! He continued to shine in the World Cup. In the Round of 32, he scored the opening goal against Ecuador, helping Mexico win 2–0 and advance. He was again named Man of the Match. In the Round of 16, Mexico played England, and Julián scored another goal, though Mexico lost 3–2. With four goals in the World Cup, he tied the record for most goals scored by a Mexican player in a single World Cup, matching legends Luis Hernández and Javier Hernández.
