Carlos Alberto Carvalho dos Anjos Junior, known simply as Juninho, is a former professional football player from Brazil. He was born on September 15, 1977. Juninho played as a striker, which means he was a forward player whose main job was to score goals.
In 2008, Juninho shared that he wanted to live in Japan forever and become a Japanese citizen. However, he found it hard to learn enough Japanese, so he decided not to pursue Japanese nationality.

Juninho started his football career in Brazil. He played for several clubs there, including Bahia, Vila Nova, União São João, and Palmeiras.
Playing in Japan
Juninho became very well-known for his time playing in Japan. He joined Kawasaki Frontale in 2003. This was a big move for his career.
Success at Kawasaki Frontale
Juninho played for Kawasaki Frontale for nine seasons, from 2003 to 2011. He was a fantastic goal scorer for the team.
- In 2003 and 2004, when Kawasaki Frontale was in the J2 League (Japan's second division), Juninho scored an amazing number of goals. He scored 28 goals in 2003 and 37 goals in 2004. His goals helped the team get promoted to the top league, the J1 League.
- Once in the J1 League, he continued to be a top player. In 2007, he was the top scorer in the J1 League with 22 goals.
- Overall, he played 285 league games for Kawasaki Frontale and scored 175 goals. This made him one of the most successful foreign players in the J.League's history.
Time with Kashima Antlers
After his long and successful period with Kawasaki Frontale, Juninho moved to Kashima Antlers in 2012. He played there for two seasons, until 2013.
Return to Brazil
Later in his career, from 2015 to 2017, Juninho returned to Brazil to play for Juazeirense.
