About Justs
Early Life and Music
Justs was born in Ķekava, Latvia. He went to Riga State Gymnasium No.1 for school. Before becoming famous, he started his music journey by performing as a street musician in Riga. This helped him gain experience and connect with an audience.
Eurovision Journey
In 2016, Justs joined Supernova, a TV show that chooses Latvia's singer for the Eurovision Song Contest. He sang "Heartbeat", a song written by Aminata Savadogo, who had represented Latvia in Eurovision the year before.
Justs did very well in Supernova. He won the first heat with over 40% of the public votes. He then made it through the semi-final and won the final on February 28, 2016. This meant he would represent Latvia at Eurovision in Stockholm, Sweden.
At the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, Justs performed "Heartbeat". He successfully made it through the semi-final. In the grand final, he finished in 15th place. This was Latvia's sixth best result ever in the contest.
After Eurovision
After Eurovision, Justs continued to release new music. On May 17, 2016, he released an EP (a shorter album) called To Be Heard. Soon after, on May 23, 2016, he released a single titled "Ko Tu Dari?" which means "What Are You Doing?" in English.
In January 2018, Justs took on a new role. He became a co-host for Supernova 2018, the same show where he had started his Eurovision journey. In April 2018, he released his first full studio album, which he named Here I Am.
Later in 2018, Justs decided to further his education. He announced that he would be studying Music Production at a university in Bristol, United Kingdom.
In November 2020, Justs participated in the first season of Balss Maskā, which is a show similar to "The Masked Singer". He performed as the "Sparrow" and finished in 3rd place.
Justs tried to represent Latvia at Eurovision again in 2023 with his song "Strangers". He also tried again in 2025 with the song "Fit Right". However, in both attempts, he was eliminated in the semi-final round of Supernova.
