Juva (also known as Swedish: Juva or Jockas) is a special type of town called a municipality in Finland. It is located in the Southern Savonia region. Juva is about 270 kilometers (168 miles) northeast of Helsinki, the capital city.
Juva has a very long history! It was officially founded on January 19, 1442. This makes it the oldest parish or municipality in Finland where we know the exact date it began.
