Pieksämäki is a town and municipality in Finland. It is located in the Southern Savonia region. The town is about 75 kilometers north of Mikkeli and 85 kilometers east of Jyväskylä. It is also about 95 kilometers south of Kuopio.
Pieksämäki has a population of 17,050 people as of 31 December 2023. The total area of the town is 1,836.22 square kilometres (708.97 sq mi). A part of this area, 266.76 km2 (103.00 sq mi), is covered by water. The population density is about 10.87 inhabitants per square kilometre (28.2/sq mi).
Pieksämäki shares borders with several other municipalities. These include Hankasalmi, Joroinen, Juva, Kangasniemi, Leppävirta, Mikkeli, Rautalampi, and Suonenjoki.

Pieksämäki became a town on January 1, 2007. This happened when the two municipalities of Pieksämäki and Pieksänmaa joined together.
