Küttigen was first mentioned a very long time ago, in the year 1036. Back then, it was called Chutingen. We know this from a copy made in the 1300s. A few years later, in 1045, it was also recorded as Chutingun.

This municipality is found between the Aare river and the Jura Mountains. It includes the main village of Küttigen and a smaller settlement called Horen.
