The AdventHealth 400 is an exciting NASCAR Cup Series car race. It takes place at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. This race is one of two big NASCAR events held at this track each year. Race History at Kansas Speedway

The very first race was called the STP 400. It happened on June 5, 2011. Just like the fall race at Kansas, this race was 400.5 miles long.

Early Races and Date Changes

Brad Keselowski won the first race in 2011. He saved fuel to beat Dale Earnhardt Jr.. In 2012, the race moved to April 22. This gave Kansas Speedway more time to rebuild parts of the track.

During the 2012 STP 400, A. J. Allmendinger started from the pole position. This means he had the fastest qualifying time. But Denny Hamlin won the race after passing Martin Truex Jr.. In 2013, the race stayed in April, happening on April 21.

Night Racing and Postponements

In 2014, the race changed dates with the Southern 500. It was held in May and became a night race for the first time. In 2020, the race was planned for a Sunday afternoon. It was supposed to be after the Coca-Cola 600 race. However, it was postponed to July 23 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It then became a Thursday night event.

Different Race Names Over Time

This race has had many different names over the years. From 2011 to 2013, it was known as the STP 400. In 2014, it became the "5-hour Energy 400". This name also helped the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

In 2015, Nickelodeon sponsored the race. They used their popular TV show, SpongeBob SquarePants, for the name. From 2016 to 2017, it was called the Go Bowling 400.

Later, KC Masterpiece sponsored the race in 2018. Digital Ally took over in 2019. In 2020, O'Reilly Auto Parts' Super Start Batteries brand became the sponsor.

The "Buschy McBusch Race 400"

In 2021, the race sponsor changed again to Busch Beer. They are a big partner of NASCAR. The race was first called the "Busch Name This Race 400". This was because fans could choose a new name for the race. They did this through a contest on the Busch Beer website.

Fans paid $1 to enter the contest. All the money went to a charity called Farm Rescue. The winning name chosen by the fans was "Buschy McBusch Race 400". It was a fun and unique name for the race!
