Kaarina (which is Swedish: S:t Karins in Swedish) is a town in Finland. It's located in the Southwest Finland region, just south of Turku, which is the main city of the region.
Kaarina is home to about 36,000 people. This makes it the second-largest municipality in the Southwest Finland region, right after Turku. The wider Turku area, including Kaarina, has a population of about 347,000 people.
The town covers an area of 179.58 square kilometres (69.34 sq mi). A small part of this area, 29.15 km2 (11.25 sq mi), is water. Most people in Kaarina speak Finnish. There is also a group of people who speak Swedish, and the town has a Swedish school.

History of Kaarina
Kaarina has grown bigger over the years by joining with other nearby areas. The island of Kuusisto became part of Kaarina in 1946. Later, in 2009, the municipality of Piikkiö also joined Kaarina. When Piikkiö joined, Kaarina started using Piikkiö's special coat of arms as its own symbol.

A very famous artist named Tom of Finland was born in Kaarina. He is known for his unique drawings.
If you like sports, Kaarina has its own football (soccer) team called Kaarinan Pojat. For movie lovers, the Kino Piispanristi is the biggest independent cinema in Southwest Finland. It's a great place to catch a film!

The weather in Kaarina changes a lot throughout the year. Summers are usually mild and pleasant, while winters are cold with snow. The warmest month is July, and the coldest is February. Kaarina gets a good amount of rain, especially in the summer and autumn.
