The Kambuwal were an Indigenous Australian people who lived in the state of Queensland. They are part of Australia's rich history of First Peoples.
Kambuwal Traditional Lands
The Kambuwal people lived on a large area of land, which is often called their 'Country'. This land was very important to them. A researcher named Norman Tindale estimated that their traditional territory covered about 9,583 square kilometres (3,700 square miles).
Their Country was located across the border between Queensland and New South Wales. It stretched from south of Millmerran and Inglewood in Queensland, all the way down to Bonshaw in New South Wales. To the east, their land reached areas near Stanthorpe, Wallangarra, and the western edge of the Great Dividing Range.
