About Kamila Volčanšek

Kamila Volčanšek was born in a town called Brežice in 1950. She loved art from a young age. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. She finished her studies there in 1978.

After graduating, she started illustrating books. She has created pictures for many children's stories. In 1981, she won a special award. This award is called the Levstik Award. She won it for her amazing illustrations. These pictures were for the book Kralj Drozgobrad. This book is also known as King Thrushbeard. It is a famous fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.
