Kanawha Falls is a small place in Fayette County, West Virginia, United States. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it is a settlement that is not officially part of a city or town, so it doesn't have its own local government.
Kanawha Falls is located on the east side of the Kanawha River. It is about 2 miles (3.2 km) southwest of a place called Gauley Bridge. It is also about 0.6 miles (1 km) downstream from the actual waterfall that shares its name, the Kanawha Falls.
For many years, Kanawha Falls had its own post office. This post office first opened a long time ago, on March 26, 1856. It served the community for over 140 years before it finally closed on November 2, 2002.
