"Kangding Qingge" (Chinese: 康定情歌; pinyin: Kāngdìng Qínggē; Wade–Giles: K'ang1-ting4 Ch'ing2-ko1) means "Kangding Love Song". It is a famous folk song from Kangding, a town in Sichuan Province, China. This song is one of the most popular songs in the Sinosphere, which includes many countries in East Asia.
The Song's History
The story of "Kangding Love Song" began in 1946. A musician named Wu Wen-ji was studying vocal music in Sikang Province in China. He wrote a song called "Paomao Liuliude Shanshang," which means "Running Horse Mountain." He also wrote other local folk songs.
Later, when Wu Wen-ji was teaching at a military school, he changed the song's name to "Kangding Love Song." He named it after Kangding, which was the capital of Sikang Province. He also changed some of the words in the song.
How the Song Became Famous
The song became very popular across China. This happened because a famous singer named Yu Yixuan sang it. After that, many other well-known artists from around the world performed the song. These artists include Plácido Domingo, Timi Zhuo, and A-Mei.

"Kangding Love Song" has appeared in many different places, showing how famous it is around the world.
- The song was sung in an episode of the TV show Daredevil. You can hear it in Season 1, Episode 5, called "World On Fire."
- A video game from 2003, Command and Conquer: Generals, has a song on its soundtrack called "Runaway Train." This song includes a part of "Kangding Love Song."
- The song is also used in the soundtrack of Dynasty Warriors 4, another video game made by Koei.
- The band Akron/Family created a remix version of this song. It is part of their song "Fuji I (Global Dub)" on their album Akron/Family II: The Cosmic Birth and Journey of Shinju TNT.
