Kari Elizabeth Byron (born December 18, 1974) is an American TV host. She is most famous for her work on the science shows MythBusters and White Rabbit Project. Kari also helps run EXPLR Media, an education streaming service. She is also an artist and author.

About Kari Byron
Kari Byron was born in the Bay Area, California. She went to San Francisco State University and finished in 1998. She earned a degree in film and sculpture. After college, she traveled a lot, especially in South Asia. She also worked on many art projects.
Her Start in TV
Kari joined MythBusters in 2004. She was part of "The Build Team." This team helped test if different myths were true or false. She worked with Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara. They also had their own parts in the show. Kari got her start by visiting Jamie Hyneman's workshop often. She really wanted to work for his company.
At first, Kari found it hard to be natural on camera. But she soon got used to being a TV star. She left MythBusters in 2014. Kari says she made great friends with the cast and crew. She feels they are like family to her.
MythBusters Adventures
On MythBusters, Kari and "The Build Team" helped Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. They tested many interesting myths. For example, they once checked if a propane tank would explode if hit by a bullet. This was a myth they had already busted.
During 2009, Kari took time off for maternity leave. Another person, Jessi Combs, filled in for her.
Other Cool Shows
From 2010 to 2011, Kari had her own show called Head Rush. This show was on the Science Channel. It was made to teach science to teens. She also hosted Large, Dangerous Rocket Ships in 2010 and 2011.
Kari and Tory Belleci also hosted Punkin Chunkin. This show was about people launching pumpkins a very long way. They hosted it from 2011 to 2014. In 2015, Kari and Tory hosted Thrill Factor. This show was on the Travel Channel.
White Rabbit Project
Kari Byron, Grant Imahara, and Tory Belleci teamed up again. They hosted a Netflix show called White Rabbit Project. It came out on December 9, 2016. The show looked at strange facts from history and pop culture.
Crash Test World
Kari is also the host of the TV series Crash Test World. The first season had six episodes. It started airing on the Science Channel on January 8, 2021.
EXPLR Media
Kari Byron is a co-founder of EXPLR Media. This is an education streaming service. Kari wants everyone to see themselves in the shows they create. She said, "I want our audience to be able to look at every show that we do and find somebody that looks like them."
Kari's Personal Life
Kari Byron was married to artist Paul Urich. They have one daughter together.
Kari loves to create art. She makes paintings by lighting gunpowder. In 2018, she wrote a book about her life. It is called Crash Test Girl. She also made the cover art for another book of poems. She used her special black powder art technique for it.
