Karrueche Tran (born May 17, 1988) is an American actress and socialite. She became well-known for her relationship with R&B singer Chris Brown. Karrueche is also famous for playing Virginia Loc in the TNT show Claws. She also starred as Vivian Johnson in the web series The Bay from 2013 to 2016. For her role in The Bay, she won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2021. This made her the first person of Asian Pacific American background to win an Emmy for a lead acting role. She also received two other Daytime Emmy Awards when The Bay won for Outstanding Digital Daytime Drama Series in 2016 and 2017.

Early Life and Family
Karrueche Tran grew up in Los Angeles, California. Her mother is Vietnamese, and her godmother is Jamaican. Her father is African-American. Karrueche identifies as biracial, meaning she has parents from different racial backgrounds. She also has a younger half-brother.
Starting Her Career
From 2009 to 2012, Karrueche worked at a store called Nordstrom in California. She first gained public attention when she started dating R&B singer Chris Brown in 2010. Around this time, Karrueche began modeling for different clothing brands. She was the face of Lady Crooks, a women's streetwear brand. She also started her own clothing line called The Kill.
Karrueche became more widely known after starring as Vivian Johnson in the web series The Bay. This show won an Emmy award. She worked on The Bay from 2013 to 2016. She also won three Daytime Emmy Awards for her work as a producer on the series.
In 2014, Karrueche appeared in a photography book called Love West Coast Girls. She also hosted the BET Awards red carpet and other events that year. She had previously co-hosted the BET show 106 & Park. Her movie The Fright Nite Files was also shown on TV One in 2014.
Acting Roles and Other Work
In 2015, Karrueche was featured in the lookbook for the French sports brand Le Coq Sportif. She also appeared on the covers of several magazines, including Rolling Out and Flaunt Magazine. Her modeling work led her to sign a contract with Wilhelmina Models LA in 2015.
Karrueche's first movie, 3-Headed Shark Attack, was released in the summer of 2015. After that, she played the main role in a short film called PrXde. She also gained recognition for her role as Vanessa Ivy in the web series Vanity.
In 2016, Karrueche had supporting roles in A Weekend with the Family and The Nice Guys. She then landed a main role in Only for One Night, playing Chloe. That same year, she worked with ColourPop Cosmetics to create a special makeup collection called KaePop.
After leaving The Bay, Karrueche began co-starring in TNT's show Claws in 2017. This TV series is about five manicurists working in a salon in South Florida. Karrueche was chosen for her ability to bring depth to her character, Virginia Loc.
In 2019, Karrueche joined the cast of FOX's Deputy in a recurring role. In 2020, she returned to The Bay for its sixth season. In 2021, she won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actress in a Daytime Fiction Program.
In 2022, Karrueche became the host of Upcycle Nation, a Fuse TV competition show about sustainable fashion. In 2023, she became one of the co-stars of the MTV show Ridiculousness. .....

Relationships
Karrueche Tran dated R&B singer Chris Brown starting in 2011. They briefly broke up in 2012. They got back together in 2013 and stayed together until 2015. In early 2017, Karrueche briefly dated rapper Quavo. Later in 2017, Karrueche began a long-term relationship with former NFL player Victor Cruz. They were together until 2021.
