Kashwakamak Lake is a beautiful freshwater lake found in North Frontenac, Ontario, Canada. It is located east of a town called Cloyne. You can also find it southeast of Bon Echo Provincial Park, a popular spot for nature lovers.

About Kashwakamak Lake
Kashwakamak Lake is quite long, stretching about 15 kilometres (9 mi). It is about 0.75 kilometres (0.5 mi) wide. The lake covers a large area of 1,159.8 hectares (2,866 acres). It has a shoreline that is quite rocky. The deepest part of the lake goes down about 22 metres (72 ft). The lake sits at an elevation of 260 metres (853 ft) above sea level.
The main river that flows into and out of Kashwakamak Lake is the Mississippi River. Water flows into the lake from Marble Lake, passing over the Whitefish Rapids. The water then flows out of Kashwakamak Lake towards Mud Lake. The amount of water flowing out is controlled by the Kashwakamak Lake Dam.
What Lives Here?
Kashwakamak Lake is home to many different kinds of fish. If you like fishing, you might find Largemouth bass, Northern pike, and Smallmouth bass. Other fish species include Rock bass, Pumpkinseed, Walleye, and Yellow perch.
Besides fish, the lake area has many private cottages. There are also several lodges and resorts where people can stay. These include Aragain Lodge, Fernleigh Lodge, Swing Wright, Twin Oaks Lodge, and Woodcrest Resort Park.
Keeping the Lake Healthy
People work together to keep Kashwakamak Lake clean and healthy. The Ministry of Environment has a "Self Help Program." This program, along with the "Lake Partner Program," helps volunteers from the Lake Association test the water quality.
The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority also has a "Watershed Watch Program." This program compares water test results from 1976 until today. This helps them see how the lake's water quality has changed over time.

If you go a bit further down the lake, west of the rope swing, you will find some jumping rocks. These are popular spots for people to jump into the cool lake water.
