Kate Cary (born on November 4, 1967, in Birmingham, England) is a super cool author. She is best known for helping to write the exciting Warriors book series.

Her Books
Kate Cary is one of the writers who uses the special pen name Erin Hunter. This name is used by a team of authors who write the Warriors books. She also wrote her own book series called Bloodline.
The Warriors Series
Kate Cary has written many books in the Warriors series. Some of these include Into the Wild, Fire and Ice, The Sight, The Last Hope, and Bluestar's Prophecy.
She has said that she really cares about the characters in her books. It makes her sad to write scenes where characters pass away. Kate also shared that a place called Loch Lomond in Scotland gave her ideas. This place helped her imagine the home of ThunderClan in the Warriors books. She announced that she would stop writing for the Warriors series in 2024.
The Bloodline Series
The first Bloodline book came out in 2005. It was simply called Bloodline. This book is like an unofficial follow-up to the famous story of Dracula. It is written as a series of letters and documents, and it takes place during World War I.
A book review from Kirkus Reviews liked the surprising twists in the story. However, they felt the characters could have been more developed. Kate Cary also wrote a second book in the series, called Bloodline: Reckoning, in 2007. Kirkus Reviews said that the story's speed and characters were not perfect. But they also said the book kept readers excited with its mysteries.
About Kate Cary
Kate Cary was born near Birmingham on November 4, 1967. She wrote her very first book when she was only four years old! She has loved writing ever since then. Kate has also loved cats since she was six years old.
She went to King Edward VI High School for Girls. Later, she moved to Surrey to study History at Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL). She finished her studies there in 1989. After university, she started sending her books to publishers. Many times, her books were not accepted.
Finally, she found a small publisher who hired her. She wrote "how-to" guides and activity books for them. In 2003, Kate sent some of her writing to Victoria Holmes. Victoria Holmes worked at a company called Working Partners. Holmes then offered Kate a job writing for the Warriors series. She would share the writing work with Cherith Baldry and Victoria Holmes herself. This helped them publish books faster.
Kate moved to Scotland in 1992. Her son, Joshua, was born there in 1997. In 2004, Kate Cary moved back to England. She lives there today.
BlogClan Website
Kate Cary created a special website for Warriors fans called BlogClan. It is an unofficial site, but she posts there often. On the site, she is known by the username Cakestar. Many fans of the Warriors series visit the site. Other fans have even made their own wikis and role-playing sites based on BlogClan.
