Katey Red (born May 17, 1983) is a talented bounce artist and M.C. (Master of Ceremonies) from New Orleans. She is well-known for being one of the first transgender rappers in bounce music. Many people credit her with creating a special style called "sissy bounce."

Early Life and Education
Katey Red grew up in the Melpomene Projects in New Orleans. She went to Walter L. Cohen High School. During her time there, she was an active member of the school's marching band.
Music Career and Style
Katey Red's music journey began in 1998. DJ Jubilee discovered her rapping at a lively block party in New Orleans. He was impressed and signed her to his record label, Take Fo' Records. In 1999, she released her first album, titled "Melpomene Block Party."
Red developed a unique and energetic style of bounce music. This style is often called "sissy bounce." Her performances often use "call and response," where she sings a line and the audience or other performers respond. She frequently works with other bounce artists. Some of her collaborators include Big Freedia, Sissy Nobby, Vockah Redu, and Cheeky Blakk.
In 2011, Katey Red and other New Orleans bounce artists were featured in an art exhibition. The show was called "Where They At?" and was displayed at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. It also traveled to the Abrons Arts Center in New York City and the Birdhouse Gallery in Austin.
Besides her music, Red is also a drag artist. She performs under the stage name Keltnny Galliano.
