Katey Red (born May 17, 1983) is a famous bounce music artist and rapper from New Orleans. She is known for being one of the first transgender rappers in bounce music. Katey Red is also credited with creating a special style of bounce music called sissy bounce.

Early Life
Katey Red was born in the Melpomene Projects in New Orleans. She went to Walter L. Cohen High School and was a part of her school's marching band.
Music Career
In 1998, a well-known DJ named DJ Jubilee saw Katey Red rapping at a neighborhood party in New Orleans. He was impressed and signed her to his music label, Take Fo' Records. In 1999, she released her first album, which was called "Melpomene Block Party".
Katey Red is considered one of the first openly gay bounce artists. She developed a unique and energetic style of bounce music. This style often uses call and response, where one person sings a line and others respond. Her style is often called sissy bounce. She frequently performs and works with other bounce artists, including Big Freedia, Sissy Nobby, Vockah Redu, and Cheeky Blakk.
In 2011, Katey Red and other New Orleans bounce artists were featured in an art show. The show was called "Where They At?" and was displayed at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. It also traveled to the Abrons Arts Center in New York City and the Birdhouse Gallery in Austin.
Katey Red is also a drag artist. She performs under the name Keltnny Galliano.
