Kautenbach's Story
Kautenbach has an interesting history. It used to be its own separate commune. A commune is like a local government area, similar to a small town or district. Kautenbach was part of the canton of Wiltz.
Becoming Kiischpelt
On January 1, 2006, Kautenbach joined with another commune called Wilwerwiltz. Together, they formed a brand new commune named Kiischpelt. The law to create Kiischpelt was officially passed on July 14, 2005.
A Name Change
Before April 17, 1914, the commune was known by a different name: Alscheid. This was because Alscheid was its main administrative center. But on that date, the center moved to Kautenbach. So, the commune's name changed to Kautenbach.
Exploring Nearby Places
Close to Kautenbach, you can find the very old Schuttbourg Castle. It is a cool place to visit and learn about history.
