Wilwerwiltz, also known as Wëlwerwolz in Luxembourgish, is a charming village. It is located in the northern part of Luxembourg. This village is part of a larger area called a commune, which is like a local government district. Today, Wilwerwiltz belongs to the commune of Kiischpelt. As of 2024, about 265 people call Wilwerwiltz home.
A Bit of History
For many years, Wilwerwiltz was its own separate commune. It was part of the Wiltz canton, which is a larger administrative area. But things changed on January 1, 2006. On that day, Wilwerwiltz joined with another commune, Kautenbach. Together, they formed a brand new commune called Kiischpelt. The decision to create Kiischpelt was made on July 14, 2005. This merger helped to organize local services better.
Getting Around
Wilwerwiltz is easy to reach by train. The village has its own train stop, called Wilwerwiltz railway station. This makes it simple for people to travel to and from the village.
Villages of the Former Commune
When Wilwerwiltz was its own commune, it included a few other small villages. These villages were:
- Enscherange
- Lellingen
- Pintsch
- Wilwerwiltz itself
These villages now all belong to the larger commune of Kiischpelt.
