Mark Makora Mbogo (born September 23, 1997), known as KayCyy or KayCyy Pluto, is a talented Kenyan-American artist. He is a rapper, singer, and songwriter.

KayCyy was born in Keroka, Kenya. His family moved to the United States when he was young. Throughout his music career, he has released many mixtapes and singles. His first main album, Who Is KayCyy?, is expected to come out in 2025.

KayCyy has worked with many famous artists. These include Kanye West, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, and Travis Scott. He helped a lot with making Kanye West's album Donda. He wrote and recorded ideas for many songs on that album.

Early Life and Moving to the U.S.

Mark Makora Mbogo was born in Keroka, Kenya, on September 23, 1997. When he was nine years old, his family moved to the United States. They settled in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

He went to Tartan Senior High School in Oakdale. During school breaks, he spent time in New York City. There, he worked with other musicians. After high school, Mbogo moved to New York City. Later, he moved to Los Angeles to follow his dream of making music.

Music Career

KayCyy started his music journey in 2016 while still in high school. He signed with Alive Productions, a record label. He released two mixtapes with them: Patient Enough in 2020 and Ups & Downs in 2021. His first big album, Who Is KayCyy?, was released in 2024.

KayCyy has worked with many other artists. He helped write songs for Lil Wayne's album Funeral. He also helped with Kanye West's song "Wash Us in the Blood".

He has worked closely with Kanye West since 2019. They met through a music business leader named Abou "Bu" Thiam. Bu later became Kanye's manager, and also KayCyy's. KayCyy is now signed to Bu's record label, BuVision, and Columbia Records. He sang and wrote songs for Kanye West's album Donda. This included the song "Hurricane", which became very popular around the world.

KayCyy was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work on Kanye's album Donda. This was for the Album of the Year. He also won a Grammy Award for singing background vocals on "Hurricane". That song won the Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance.

In 2022, Mbogo released an EP called TW20 50 with Gesaffelstein. An EP is like a mini-album. He also released the mixtape Get Used To It in June 2022. In May 2023, he released another EP with Gesaffelstein, called TW2052. KayCyy also sang and helped write the song "Thank God" on Travis Scott’s album Utopia.
