Kaylyn McKenzie Kyle, born on October 6, 1988, is a former Canadian soccer player. She was a key member of the Canada women's national soccer team and won a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Kaylyn is also an ambassador for Right To Play, an organization that uses sport to educate and empower children. Today, she works as a soccer broadcaster for MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, where she hosts the show MLS 360.

Early Life and Soccer Beginnings
Kaylyn Kyle grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She went to Bishop Mahoney High School, where she helped her school's soccer team win both city and provincial championships. Soccer was a big part of her family. Her dad, Doug, was a professional hockey player, and her mom, Pat, played competitive volleyball. Her older sister, Courtnee, also played soccer at a high national level.
Kaylyn was recognized for her talent early on. She was named Saskatchewan Soccer Association Youth Female Player of The Year three times, in 2004, 2005, and 2006. Later, she earned the Senior Female Player of the Year award in 2010 and 2011.
University Soccer Experience
In 2006, Kaylyn attended the University of Saskatchewan. She played Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) soccer for the university team. During that year, she played in 14 games, scoring three goals and helping with three assists. After just one year, her skills caught the eye of the Canada women's national soccer team. She was invited to join the national team and was also offered a contract to play professional soccer in Sweden.

Kaylyn Kyle played for several professional soccer clubs throughout her career.
Playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps
Kaylyn played for the Vancouver Whitecaps for a total of six seasons, from 2006 to 2012. In her first season in 2006, she played one game. In 2007, she played eight games and scored one goal. During the 2008 season, she played six games and made two assists.
In 2010, Kaylyn played five games for the Whitecaps and made two assists. She also played in two playoff games, scoring one goal and making one assist. The Whitecaps reached the championship final that year. In 2011, she played in three playoff games, scoring two goals. One of these was the winning goal against their rivals, Seattle, which helped the team finish in third place.
Playing in Sweden
In 2009, Kaylyn played for Piteå IF in Sweden. This team was part of the country's top women's soccer league, called Damallsvenskan. She played in 13 games for the team and scored one goal.
Joining Seattle Reign FC
On January 11, 2013, Kaylyn joined the Seattle Reign FC. This team is part of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), which is the top women's soccer league in the United States. She started as a midfielder but later moved to play as a center back. This change helped make the team's defense stronger.
Even as a defender, Kaylyn was one of the top scorers for the Reign. She scored three goals that season, all of them from penalty kicks. She played in 21 games for the team and started in 19 of those matches.
Other NWSL Teams
After playing for Seattle, Kaylyn moved to other teams in the NWSL.
- On September 10, 2013, she was traded to the Boston Breakers.
- On April 29, 2014, she was traded again to the Houston Dash.
- In 2015, Kaylyn played 12 games for Portland Thorns FC.
- On October 26, 2015, she joined the Orlando Pride. She played in 17 games for the Pride before leaving the team in 2017.
International Career for Canada
Kaylyn Kyle proudly represented Canada at different levels of international soccer.
Youth National Teams
She played for Canada's U-17 and U-20 youth teams. She also took part in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup twice, in 2006 and 2008.
Senior National Team
In 2008, Kaylyn played her first game for the senior team. In 2011, she was part of the team that won a gold medal at the Pan American Games. They beat Brazil in the final game.
Kaylyn won a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. She played a very important role in the midfield for Canada throughout the tournament. Canada won the bronze medal game by beating France 1–0 on August 9, 2012.
She played her 100th game for the senior national team at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. This special game was during the round of 16 match against Switzerland.
On April 21, 2017, Kaylyn announced that she was retiring from playing international soccer.
Life After Soccer
After retiring from playing, Kaylyn Kyle started a new career as a broadcaster.
In 2017, she became a sports commentator for TSN. She also hosts shows for BeIN Sports and works as an analyst for their broadcasts. In 2020, she became a sideline reporter for Inter Miami CF, a professional soccer team.
In 2023, Kaylyn joined the Apple TV MLS Season Pass broadcasting team. She also announced in December 2023 that she became a brand ambassador for Can-i Wellness, a company that makes oral spray supplements.
Personal Life
Kaylyn Kyle married Harrison Heath in 2017. They welcomed their first child, a son named Hayden Jack Heath, in June 2018.
