Kazumi Takada (高田 一美, Takada Kazumi, June 28, 1951 – October 1, 2009) was a Japanese football player. He was known for playing as a forward. Takada also played for the Japan national team.

Playing for Clubs

Kazumi Takada was born in Shizuoka, Japan, on June 28, 1951. He started his club career in 1971. He joined a team called Mitsubishi Motors.

Early Success

Takada quickly became an important player for Mitsubishi Motors. In his first year, 1971, his team won the Emperor's Cup. This is a major football tournament in Japan.

In 1973, his team had another great year. They won the Japan Soccer League title. They also won the Emperor's Cup again that same year.

Winning Many Titles

The year 1978 was a very special one for Takada and Mitsubishi Motors. They achieved a "treble" by winning all three main Japanese football titles. These were the Japan Soccer League, the JSL Cup, and the Emperor's Cup.

Kazumi Takada played for Mitsubishi Motors until he retired in 1979. During his time with the club, he played in 128 league games. He scored 25 goals in these matches. He was also chosen for the "Best Eleven" team in both 1972 and 1973. This means he was considered one of the top 11 players in the league during those years.

Playing for Japan

Kazumi Takada also represented his country on the international stage. He was selected for the Japan national team in December 1970. At that time, he was still a student at Nihon University.

International Debut

His first game for Japan was on December 12, 1970. This match was against Khmer during the 1970 Asian Games. He also played in the qualifying matches for the 1974 FIFA World Cup.

Takada played a total of 16 games for the Japan national team. His international career lasted until 1975.

Later Life

Kazumi Takada passed away on October 1, 2009. He was 58 years old. He died in Suginami, Tokyo, due to pancreatic cancer.
