Kebili Governorate (which is Gibillī in Arabic) is one of the 24 governorates in Tunisia. A governorate is like a large region or province. It is located in the southwestern part of the country. This area shares a border with Algeria.
Kebili Governorate covers a large area of about 22,454 square kilometers. This makes it the second largest governorate in Tunisia. In 2014, about 156,961 people lived there. The main city and capital of this governorate is also called Kebili.
