History of Keiser
Keiser was first called "Savage Crossing". It was one of many towns started by Robert E. Lee Wilson. He was a famous land developer in the late 1800s.
The city began as a place for logging. It was also a stop on the train line. This line connected the towns of Wilson and Jonesboro. Keiser was named after John Keiser, a friend of Robert E. Lee Wilson.
After all the trees were cut down, Keiser changed. It became a farming community instead of a logging town. Keiser officially became a city in 1933.
In 1957, the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station set up a research farm nearby. They later built a main office in Keiser in 1980. This office is called the Northeast Research and Extension Center.
