Keith Edgar Knight Jr., born on August 24, 1966, is an American cartoonist and musician. He is famous for his funny and thought-provoking comic strips. His most well-known works include The K Chronicles, (Th)ink, and The Knight Life.

About Keith Knight
Keith Knight grew up in the Boston area, in Malden, Massachusetts. He lived in San Francisco for a while before moving to Los Angeles in 2007. Today, he lives in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina.
He is married to Kerstin Konietzka-Knight, who is an illustrator from Germany. They have two children together. Keith often includes his family as characters in his comic strips, like The K Chronicles and The Knight Life. He sometimes playfully jokes about his wife's way of speaking English.
Keith Knight's Career

Keith Knight's comic strip The K Chronicles began in the early 1990s. It appears in places like Daily Kos and used to be in the San Francisco Examiner. Another strip, (Th)ink, is published in many newspapers and websites, especially those for African-American readers.
In 2008, he launched a daily comic strip called The Knight Life. Keith Knight has also drawn two strips for Mad magazine. These were called Father O'Flannity's Hot Tub Confessions and Bully Baby.
In 2012, Keith Knight shared that he was working on a graphic novel. This book is about his short time as a Michael Jackson celebrity impersonator in the 1980s. The book is titled I Was a Teenage Michael Jackson Impersonator. It was released at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2023.
Keith Knight was also part of a hip-hop band called The Marginal Prophets. He is also a public speaker. He uses his comic strips in slideshows to talk about important issues. These include understanding different cultures and police brutality.
The TV Show Woke
In November 2018, it was announced that Hulu was making a TV show based on Keith Knight's work. The show, called Woke, is a half-hour sitcom. It is inspired by The K Chronicles and events from Keith Knight's own life.
Keith Knight helped write the show. The actor Lamorne Morris plays a character based on Keith Knight. Woke first aired on September 9, 2020. Because it was so popular, Hulu decided to make a second season, which was announced on November 17, 2020.
Awards and Recognition
Keith Knight and his work have won several awards. In 2007, The K Chronicles received the Harvey Kurtzman Award for Best Syndicated Comic Strip. It won against other well-known comics like Doonesbury and Mutts.
The K Chronicles has also won the Glyph Awards for Best Comic Strip many times. These wins include 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010.
In 2010, Keith Knight was given an Inkpot Award at San Diego Comic-Con. This award recognizes people for their achievements throughout their career.
In 2015, the NAACP honored Keith Knight as a "History Maker." They praised his ability to use his comic strips to inspire conversations and action. They said his art is a great example of how to make a difference in the world.
