The creek then flows downhill. Its mouth is where it meets Indian Slough. This spot is in Contra Costa County, California. The mouth is at a lower elevation of about 7 feet (2 meters). This meeting point is called a confluence.

Its Many Names

Kellogg Creek has had different names over time. On April 4, 1776, an explorer named Pedro Font named it. He was part of the Juan Bautista de Anza expedition. He called the creek Arroyo Santa Ángela de Fulgino.

Later, in the 1800s, local Californians knew it by another name. They called it Arroyo del Sur. Today, we know this historic creek as Kellogg Creek.
