Kelly Catlin (born November 3, 1995 – died March 7, 2019) was an amazing American professional racing cyclist. She was known for her speed and skill on the track. Kelly won several gold medals in the women's team pursuit at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 2016, 2017, and 2018. She also earned a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the same event.

About Kelly Catlin
Kelly Catlin was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was one of three children, having a brother and a sister who were also triplets. Kelly was very smart and talented in many areas. She earned a degree in mathematics and Chinese from the University of Minnesota. Later, she studied at Stanford University for a special degree in computational and mathematical engineering.
Besides being a top cyclist, Kelly was also an artist. She loved to create art and was a skilled violinist. She showed that you can be great at sports and also have many other interests.
Sadly, Kelly passed away on March 7, 2019, at Stanford University. She had been facing challenges with her mental health. After her death, her family decided to donate her brain to the Concussion Legacy Foundation Brain Bank at Boston University. This was done to help researchers learn more about concussions and mental health, hoping to help others in the future.
Kelly's Cycling Career
Kelly Catlin started cycling when she was 17 years old. She quickly became very good at it. She competed in the UCI Track Cycling World Championships three times. In each of these championships, she won gold medals.
- In 2016, she won a gold medal in the women's team pursuit at the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.
- She won another gold medal in the same event at the 2017 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.
- Her third gold medal came at the 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.
Kelly also achieved great success at the 2016 Summer Olympics. There, she won a silver medal in the women's team pursuit. She was a valued member of the women's cycling team called Rally UHC Cycling.
