Kelly Macdonald, born on February 23, 1976, is a talented actress from Scotland. She is famous for her roles in movies and TV shows. She has won many awards, like a BAFTA Award, an Emmy Award, and has been recognized four times by the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Kelly Macdonald first appeared in a movie called Trainspotting in 1996, directed by Danny Boyle. She was nominated for a BAFTA Award for her role in the film No Country for Old Men (2007). You might also know her from movies like Nanny McPhee (2005) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011). Kelly Macdonald was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She grew up in a town called Neilston. Her parents separated when she was young. Her mother, who worked in clothing sales, raised Kelly and her brother, David. Kelly went to Eastwood High School from 1989 to 1993.
Starting Her Acting Journey
Kelly Macdonald's acting career began when she was working as a barmaid in Glasgow. She saw a flyer for an open audition for the movie Trainspotting. She decided to try out and won the role of Diane!
She also played Mary O'Neary in Two Family House and an actress playing Peter Pan in Finding Neverland. Kelly had important roles in Gosford Park, where she played a maid, and in Intermission (2003).

In 2005, Kelly Macdonald starred in the TV film The Girl in the Café. For this role, she won an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
She also had a supporting role in the Oscar-winning film No Country for Old Men (2007). This role earned her a nomination for a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
In 2011, she played the "Grey Lady" (who is actually Helena Ravenclaw) in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. This was the last movie in the Harry Potter series. In 2012, she voiced Merida, the main character in the Disney/Pixar animated movie Brave. She also appeared in Anna Karenina.

Personal Life
In August 2003, Kelly Macdonald married musician Dougie Payne. He is the bassist for the band Travis. They have two sons together. In 2014, they moved back to their hometown of Glasgow after living in London and New York City. They separated in 2017.
