Kendrick LaShawn Office was born on August 2, 1978. He is a former American football player. He played as a defensive end for two seasons. His main team was the Buffalo Bills in the National Football League (NFL). He also played college football at the University of West Alabama.
Early Life and High School Football
Kendrick LaShawn Office was born in Butler, Alabama. He went to Choctaw County High School in Butler. He was a star athlete there. He was named the most valuable player (MVP) for both his football and basketball teams. In his senior year of high school, he made 80 tackles. He also had 20 sacks and recovered three fumbles.
College Football Career
Kendrick Office played college football for the West Alabama Tigers. This team is part of the University of West Alabama. He was a starting player for all four years, from 1997 to 2000. In 1997, as a first-year student, he started all ten games. He made 36 tackles and 3.5 sacks that year.
Office was recognized as one of the best players in his conference. He was chosen three times for the first-team All-Gulf South Conference. During his college career, he made a total of 239 tackles. He also had 20.5 sacks. He was the first player from West Alabama to play in the Blue–Gray Football Classic. In that game, he made three tackles and one sack. Kendrick Office earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management. In 2017, he was honored by being added to West Alabama's athletics hall of fame.
Professional Football Journey
Kendrick Office began his professional career in 2001. He was not chosen in the 2001 NFL draft. However, the Buffalo Bills signed him on April 24, 2001. He was later released by the Bills on August 28, 2001.
The Cleveland Browns then picked him up on August 29, 2001. But he was released by the Browns just a few days later, on September 2, 2001.
Office returned to the Buffalo Bills. He joined their practice squad on September 4, 2001. He was moved to the main team on October 3, 2001. During the 2001 season, he played in eight games for the Bills. He started one of those games. He recorded 11 solo tackles, five assisted tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles. In 2002, he played in ten games and started one. He made four solo tackles, nine assisted tackles, and recovered one fumble. After the 2002 season, he became a free agent.
In 2007, Office joined the San Jose SaberCats. This team was part of the Arena Football League. He signed with their practice squad on May 21, 2007. He was moved to the active team on July 6, 2007. This was just before the playoffs started. On July 29, 2007, his team, the SaberCats, won ArenaBowl XXI. They beat the Columbus Destroyers with a score of 55–33. Office was placed on a "refuse to report" list on February 4, 2008.
