Kenneth Kamwi Matengu was born in 1978 in Katima Mulilo, Namibia. He is a respected professor from Namibia. Since August 2018, he has been the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Namibia. This means he is the main leader of the university.
Before becoming Vice-Chancellor, Professor Matengu worked as the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Resources Mobilization at the same university from 2016 to 2018. On June 29, 2018, he was chosen to be the third Vice-Chancellor of the University of Namibia. He was the youngest person ever to take on this important role.
Learning and Achievements
Professor Matengu went to Caprivi Senior Secondary for his high school education. He has studied at several universities around the world.
University Studies
He earned a Certificate in International Relations from the University of Tampere. He also has a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Sociology from the University of Namibia.
Advanced Degrees
Professor Matengu completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree at the University of Eastern Finland. A Ph.D. is a very high academic degree. His studies focused on how new ideas and inventions spread and help development.

He has written many academic papers and books. He has published over 50 articles that have been reviewed by other experts. He has also contributed to books and presented papers at international conferences.
