Kenneth Wayne Natt (born October 5, 1958) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He played as a guard in the NBA. Kenny Natt also coached for many years, including a time as an interim head coach for the Sacramento Kings.
Kenny Natt's Playing Career
Kenny Natt was chosen in the 1980 NBA draft by the Indiana Pacers. He was the 30th player picked overall. He played for three different NBA teams until the 1984–85 season.
Besides the NBA, Kenny Natt also played in other leagues. He played for seven different teams in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and the World Basketball League (WBL). He was recognized as one of the best players in the CBA. He made the All-CBA First Team in 1982 and the Second Team in 1987.
Coaching Basketball
Kenny Natt started his coaching journey in 1994. He became an assistant coach at Youngstown State University. After that, he worked as a scout for the Utah Jazz for one season. A scout helps find new players for a team.
From 1996 to 2004, he was an assistant coach for the Utah Jazz. He worked under a famous coach named Jerry Sloan. Later, in 2004, Natt joined the Cleveland Cavaliers' coaching staff. He also coached in other leagues, like the CBA and the Canadian NBL.
In 2007, Kenny Natt became an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings. He later became the interim head coach for the Kings. An interim coach takes over temporarily. He coached the team for part of the 2008–09 season.
In 2011, he took on a big role as the head coach for the India national basketball team. Since 2012, Kenny Natt has been the director of basketball at the IMG Academy. This academy helps young athletes develop their skills.
In 2003, Kenny Natt was honored for his college career. He was inducted into the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) Hall of Fame. He is also the younger brother of Calvin Natt, who was an NBA All-Star player.
