Kerri-Anne Kennerley (born 22 September 1953) is a well-known Australian television and radio presenter, actress, and singer. She has worked in the entertainment industry for over 50 years. Kerri-Anne is also a member of the Logie Hall of Fame, which celebrates important people in Australian television.

She co-hosted the breakfast TV show Good Morning Australia on Network 10 for 11 years. Later, she hosted Midday with Kerri-Anne. She also had her own breakfast show called Kerri-Anne. More recently, she was a co-host on Network 10's Studio 10. In 2020, she performed in the musical Pippin in Sydney.

Kerri-Anne's Career Journey

Kerri-Anne first appeared on television in 1967 when she was 14 years old. She was on children's shows like The Channel Niners in Brisbane. After living in the US, she returned to Australia in 1981. She then played Melinda Burgess in the TV series The Restless Years, a show for teenagers.

She hosted Good Morning Australia for 11 years. During the 1980s, Kerri-Anne also sang and released her own album. She even released a Christmas album in 1985. Her singing style was sometimes made fun of by comedian Gina Riley on the TV show Fast Forward. She also sang an AC/DC song on Andrew Denton's Musical Challenge.

In 1996, Kerri-Anne became the host of the daytime TV show Midday. The show was renamed Midday with Kerri-Anne. This was her first time hosting a talk show by herself. Her work on Midday earned her three nominations for the Gold Logie, a top Australian TV award. After Midday finished in 1998, she joined the What's Cooking program in 1999. Both of these shows were on the Nine Network.

In 2001, she moved to Network Ten to host game shows like Greed. These shows did not last very long. In 2002, she returned to the Nine Network. There, she hosted her second solo talk show, Kerri-Anne. This show was on weekdays for nine years. It ended in November 2011.

In 2012, Kerri-Anne joined the Seven Network. She was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. She was the fourth person to be eliminated from the competition. She also appeared as a guest reporter on Sunday Night. She filled in as a presenter on The Morning Show.

In 2013, Kerri-Anne started presenting a true crime series called Behind Mansion Walls for Foxtel. She has also been a guest on Network Ten's The Project. In 2017, she made a brief appearance as herself in The War on Waste. She was also an advisor on The Celebrity Apprentice Australia.

In September 2018, Kerri-Anne became a co-host on Network 10's morning talk show Studio 10. She worked alongside other hosts like Sarah Harris. In August 2020, it was announced that she would be leaving Studio 10. This was part of changes to the show.

After leaving Studio 10, Kerri-Anne was cast as Berthe in the musical Pippin. She performed at the Sydney Lyric Theatre in 2020. In 2022, she performed in a special tribute show for Australian comedian Paul Hogan. In April 2023, Kerri-Anne appeared as a contestant on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. She left the show a few days later.

Kerri-Anne Wright was born in Brisbane, Queensland. Her father was a builder. She grew up in Sandgate, a suburb of Brisbane, with her three siblings. While living in the US, she was married to record producer Jimmy Miller. She later found support from her friend John Kennerley.

In 1984, she married John Kennerley. John had two children from a previous marriage. In an interview in 2006, Kerri-Anne shared that she had tried to have children for many years. She had a miscarriage many years ago and always wished she could have had children.

In June 2012, Kerri-Anne shared that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2013, she was chosen to be on the board of Golf Australia. In March 2016, her husband John was injured in a fall and became paralysed. He passed away in February 2019 at the age of 78. Kerri-Anne lives in the Sydney suburb of Woollahra.

Awards and Recognition

Kerri-Anne Kennerley was nominated for the Gold Logie three times. These nominations were in 1997, 1998, and 1999 for her work on Midday. In 1988, she received a star on the Caloundra Walk of Stars. In 2017, she was inducted into the Logie Hall of Fame. In 2018, her picture was featured on a series of Australia Post stamps. This was part of the "Legends of Television" series.
