Early Life and High School Basketball

Kevon Harris was born and grew up in Ellenwood, Georgia. He went to Martin Luther King Jr. High School. In his final year, he was a star player. He scored about 16 points and grabbed almost 12 rebounds per game. He helped his team achieve a great record of 24 wins and 6 losses. They even made it to the state semifinals.

After high school, Kevon spent an extra year at DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida. This helped him prepare for college basketball. He chose to play for Stephen F. Austin. Other colleges like Utah State and Texas A&M also wanted him.

College Basketball Career

Kevon Harris quickly became an important player for the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks. He started playing in games during his first year. He averaged 8.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

Becoming a Star Player

In his second year, Kevon's skills grew even more. He averaged 14.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He was named to the second team All-Southland Conference. He continued to improve in his third year. He averaged 17.8 points and 6.5 rebounds. Again, he was named to the second team All-Southland Conference. During this season, he scored over 1,000 points in his college career.

Kevon thought about joining the NBA draft in 2019. But he decided to stay at Stephen F. Austin for his senior year. This was a great choice. On February 19, 2020, he made history. He became the school's all-time leading scorer in Division I basketball. He passed the previous record held by Thomas Walkup.

After his senior season, Kevon received a big honor. He was named the Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He also made the first team All-Southland Conference. He finished fourth in the conference for scoring. He averaged 17.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
