Khosro Heydari (Persian: خسرو حیدری, born September 14, 1983) is a famous Iranian football player. He mostly played as a defender for Esteghlal. He was known for his speed and skill on the right side of the field.

Playing for Clubs

Khosro Heydari started his football journey playing for different youth teams. He became well-known for his great performances with Pas. Because of his talent, he joined Esteghlal F.C. in 2008. He was a very important player for Esteghlal, helping them win the league in the 2008–09 season.

Winning the League with Esteghlal

Khosro continued to play excellently for Esteghlal. He was one of the most important players on the team. In 2010, he moved to Sepahan and signed a two-year contract. He also helped Sepahan win the league title.

Returning to Esteghlal

After one season with Sepahan, Khosro Heydari returned to Esteghlal F.C. on July 23, 2011. He signed a new two-year deal. In his first season back, he helped Esteghlal win the Hazfi Cup. The next season, they won the Iran Pro League again.

He extended his contract with Esteghlal several times, staying with the club until 2019. Khosro Heydari played his last professional game for Esteghlal on May 16, 2019. It was a 2–1 win against Sepidrood. He played a total of 396 club games and scored 10 goals during his career.

Khosro Heydari also played for the Iran national under-23 football team. He took part in the 2006 Asian Games. He was called up to the main Iran national team in June 2007.

Major Tournaments and Matches

He made his first appearance for Iran in a match against Palestine. Khosro Heydari played in the qualifying matches for the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups. He also played in the qualifying rounds for the 2011 and 2015 AFC Asian Cups.

He represented Iran in several big tournaments. These included the 2010 West Asian Football Federation Championship, the 2011 Asian Cup, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and the 2015 Asian Cup. He played 59 games for the Iran national team.
