Khosrow Sinai (born January 19, 1941 – died August 1, 2020) was a famous Iranian film director. He also wrote screenplays, composed music, wrote poetry, and was a scholar.

This movie won many awards both in Iran and around the world. Khosrow Sinai was the first Iranian director to win an international award after the 1979 revolution. About Khosrow Sinai
Khosrow Sinai was born in Sari, Mazandaran Province, Iran, on January 19, 1941. He finished high school in Tehran in 1958. After that, he went to Austria to study more.
His Education Journey
Sinai spent four years studying Architecture at the Vienna University of Technology. He then studied music composition for three years at the Vienna Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. He also earned a degree in music education. Later, he graduated with honors in film and television directing. He also studied screenplay writing.
Working in Iran
After finishing his studies, Sinai returned to Iran in 1967. He worked for the Ministry of Culture and Arts until 1972. He also taught at various universities. He taught screenplay writing and documentary filmmaking until 1992.
He worked for National Iranian Television, now called Seda o Sima. There, he produced, wrote, directed, and edited many films. He made about 100 short films, documentaries, and feature movies. He was known for his unique style in making "docu-dramas." These films mix real-life events with fictional stories. He also served as a judge at many film festivals.
Music and Other Talents
While Khosrow Sinai is best known for his films, he was also a talented musician. He was a skilled composer and played the accordion very well. He even created the music for some of his own films.

On August 1, 2020, Khosrow Sinai passed away at the age of 79. He died from COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Iran.
