History of Kirbyville
Kirbyville got its name from an early postmaster, Mr. Kirby. A post office has been open in the area since 1871.
A group called the Bald Knobbers was formed nearby in 1883. This group was organized just northwest of the village.
Kirbyville officially became a village on June 4, 2001.
