Knockemdown Key is a small island in the lower Florida Keys. It's about 20 miles (32 km) east of Key West. You can find it between Cudjoe Key and Big Torch Key. A former baseball player, Dave Voit, owns the island.
The island has a special station run by NOAA. This station helps measure the tides in the ocean.
You can only reach Knockemdown Key by boat. The closest public boat ramp is on Cudjoe Key.
Geography
Knockemdown Key is located in the Gulf of Mexico. Its exact location is 24° 42.9’ N and 81° 28.7’ W. The island is north of Summerland Key. It is also northeast of Cudjoe Key.
The island covers about 688 acres (278 hectares) of land. Much of the island is covered with mangrove trees. These trees grow in salty water.
Knockemdown Key is also home to Key deer. These are a small type of deer found only in the Florida Keys.
