Ko Chun-hsiung (Chinese: 柯俊雄; traditional Chinese: 柯俊雄; pinyin: Kē Jùnxióng; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Koa Chùn-hiông; born January 15, 1945 – died December 6, 2015) was a famous Taiwanese actor, director, and politician. He started acting in the 1960s and appeared in over 200 movies. He was known for his strong performances and won many awards throughout his career.
Ko Chun-hsiung received three Golden Horse Awards, which are very important film awards in the Chinese-speaking world. He also won two Asia Pacific Film Festival Awards for Best Actor and an award from the Panama International Film Festival. In 2005, he was recognized as one of the "100 Outstanding Artists in Chinese Film."

Ko Chun-hsiung's Life
Early Years and Education
Ko Chun-hsiung was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He went to Kaohsiung No.2 School. Later, he studied at the National Taiwan University of Arts. He also took courses at Tokyo University and Saint John's College.
Amazing Acting Career
Ko Chun-hsiung started his acting journey with small roles before 1965. His first major film was The Silent Wife in 1965.
Winning Awards for Acting
In 1967, Ko Chun-hsiung starred as Feng Ze in Lonely Seventeen. For this role, he won his first Best Actor Award at the Asia Pacific Film Festival. He won this award again in 1974 for playing Zhang Zizhong in the historical film The Everlasting Glory.
In 1976, he played Xie Jinyuan in the historical movie Eight Hundred Heroes. This role earned him a Golden Horse Award. He won another Golden Horse Award in 1979 for his acting in A Teacher of Great Soldiers.
Directing and Later Roles
In 1981, Ko Chun-hsiung directed and starred in the film My Grandfather. This movie helped him win a Best Actor Award at the Panama International Film Festival.
He also acted alongside Jackie Chan in the 1989 romantic comedy Miracles. Audiences really enjoyed his performance in that film. In 1999, he won his third Golden Horse Award for Best Actor for his role in Cao Cao. Later in his career, in 2012, he appeared in the Taiwanese TV drama Feng Shui Family.
Political Journey
Ko Chun-hsiung also had a career in politics, starting in 1990. In 2004, he won a primary election for the Kuomintang party. He then served as a legislator in the Legislative Yuan (Taiwan's parliament) from 2005 to 2008. He represented the Hsinchu City Constituency. In 2007, he joined the Taiwan Farmers' Party, but he was not reelected in the 2008 elections.
Personal Life and Family
Ko Chun-hsiung was married two times. His first wife was actress Chang Mei-yao. They married in 1970 and had two children: a daughter named Ko Yishan and a son named Ko Pinyin. They later divorced in 2004.
In 2005, he married Tsai Qinghua. With her, he had two more children: a son named Ko Jianyu and a daughter named Ko Zier. His first wife, Chang Mei-yao, passed away in 2012.
Later Years and Passing
Ko Chun-hsiung passed away on December 6, 2015, in Taipei. He was 70 years old. He had been diagnosed with lung cancer a year before his death.
