Ko Takamoro (高師 康, Takamoro Ko, November 9, 1907 – March 26, 1995) was a Japanese football player. He was born on November 9, 1907, and passed away on March 26, 1995. He played as a defender and was a member of the Japan national team.

Playing for Clubs

Ko Takamoro was born in Saitama, Japan. He played football for teams like Saitama Shukyu-Dan. He also played for a team called Waseda WMW. This team was made up of players from Waseda University, his former school.

At Waseda WMW, he played alongside many famous Japanese football players. Some of these players later joined the Japan national team. In 1928, his team, Waseda WMW, won the important Emperor's Cup tournament.

Playing for Japan's National Team

In August 1927, Ko Takamoro was still a student. Even so, he was chosen to play for the Japan national team. This was for the 1927 Far Eastern Championship Games. The games took place in Shanghai.

On August 27, he played his first game for Japan. This match was against the team from Republic of China. Two days later, on August 29, he played against the Philippines. Japan won this game, which was a big moment. It was the first time the Japan national team won an official international match. Takamoro played a total of 2 games for Japan in 1927.

Life After Football

After he stopped playing football, Ko Takamoro started a new career. From 1936 to 1962, he worked at a well-known newspaper company. This company was called Asahi Shimbun.

Ko Takamoro passed away on March 26, 1995. He was 87 years old.
