Kodi Burns (born December 24, 1988) is an American football coach. He is currently the Assistant head coach, Co-offensive coordinator, and Wide receivers coach for the South Florida Bulls football team. Before this, he coached wide receivers at the University of Tennessee and Auburn University. He also played college football at Auburn, first as a quarterback and then as a wide receiver. He helped his team win a national championship in 2010.

Early Life and High School Football
Kodi Burns grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He went to Northside High School. In his senior year of 2007, he was an amazing player. He gained 2,738 yards and scored 36 touchdowns by both running and passing the ball.
Burns was named All-State by the Arkansas Activities Association. He was also ranked as one of the top "Dual-Threat" quarterbacks in the country. Many college coaches wanted him to play for their teams.
College Football Career at Auburn
Burns played college football for the Auburn team. In 2007, he was an important part of their offense. During the 2007 Chick-fil-A Bowl, he scored a 10-yard touchdown run. This helped Auburn win the game 23–20 in overtime.
In 2008, Burns started seven games as quarterback for the Tigers. Later, before the 2009 season, he changed positions. He became a wide receiver.
In 2010, Burns scored another touchdown against Arkansas State. Auburn won that game 56–26. He also threw a touchdown pass to Cam Newton against Ole Miss. Burns made a very important catch in the National Championship Game against Oregon. Newton threw a long 35-yard pass to Burns for a touchdown. This play put Auburn ahead 7–3 and helped them win the championship 22–19.
Coaching Journey
After his playing career, Kodi Burns became a football coach. He has coached for several college and professional teams.
Early Coaching Roles
In January 2012, Burns started his coaching career at Arkansas State. He worked as an offensive graduate assistant. The next year, he returned to his old college, Auburn. He joined the coaching staff there as a graduate assistant.
In 2014, Burns coached running backs at Samford University. The following year, in 2015, he became the wide receivers coach at Middle Tennessee State University.
Return to Auburn
In February 2016, Burns went back to Auburn University for a second time. He was hired as the wide receivers coach. He stayed in this role for several years. In December 2020, the head coach at Auburn was let go, and Burns also left the team.
Coaching in Tennessee and the NFL
In February 2021, Burns became the wide receivers coach for the University of Tennessee. He coached there for one season.
In February 2022, Burns got his first coaching job in the NFL. He became the wide receivers coach for the New Orleans Saints. He coached for the Saints until November 2024.
South Florida Bulls
Kodi Burns is now the Assistant Head Coach, Co-Offensive Coordinator, and Wide Receivers Coach for the South Florida Bulls. He started this role in 2025.
