A Look Back: Mining History

The story of Kramer Hills began around 1885. Back then, it was a small mining camp called Kramer Hill. People came here because copper was discovered nearby. However, this first mining camp didn't last very long.

Later on, people found more gold and copper in the area. This made them interested in mining again. The most important mining activity happened around 1926 at a place called the Herkelrath gold mine. We don't know exactly how much gold was found, but many people claimed land and searched for minerals.
