Krastyu Sergeyev Trichkov (Bulgarian: Кръстю Сергеев Тричков; born 12 April 1923) was an important Bulgarian politician. He was a member of the Bulgarian Communist Party. He held a very high position as the first First Deputy Chairman of the State Council.

Krastyu Trichkov's Early Life
Krastyu Trichkov was born in a town called Belitsa, in the Razlog area, on 12 April 1923. He had a brother named Ivan Trichkov, who also worked for the government.
Joining Youth and Resistance Groups
From 1940, when he was 17, Krastyu Trichkov joined the Workers' Youth League. This was a group for young people who supported certain political ideas. In 1942, he joined another political organization called the PA.
He was part of the resistance movement during the Second World War (1942–1944). This means he helped fight against the ruling powers at that time. From 1942, he worked as a political commissar in Razlog. This role meant he was a leader and organizer for his political group in that area.
Political Career and Leadership Roles
After a big change in government, sometimes called a coup d'état, Krastyu Trichkov took on more important roles. He became a secretary for the youth league in Blagoevgrad. Later, from 1957 to 1971, he was the First Secretary of the Regional Committee of the Communist Party in Blagoevgrad. This was a very powerful leadership position in the region.
Rising Through the Communist Party
Krastyu Trichkov continued to move up in the Communist Party. From 1958 to 1962, he was a candidate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party. This committee was a main decision-making body. In 1962, he became a full member, staying in this role until 1990.
From 1966 to 1981, he was also a candidate member of the Politburo. The Politburo was an even smaller, more powerful group within the Central Committee.
High Government Positions
Between 1971 and 1976, Krastyu Trichkov held several very high government jobs. He was the First Deputy Chairman of the State Council. He also served as a Deputy Prime Minister. From 1976 to 1981, he was the Chairman of the Committee on State and People's Control. This committee helped oversee how the government and public services were run.
Later, from 1981 to 1988, he was the First Vice-President of the National Council of the Fatherland Front. This was a large political organization in Bulgaria. He was also a member of the State Council from 1981 to 1986. In 1990, he retired from his political career. He also wrote two books about his life and experiences.
