Krystyna Zofia Feldman (born March 1, 1916 – died January 24, 2007) was a famous Polish actress. She was known for her many roles in theater, movies, and TV shows.

Krystyna Feldman's Life and Career
Early Life and Training
Krystyna Feldman was born in 1916 in Lemberg, which is now Lviv, Ukraine. Her mother, Katarzyna Sawicka, was an opera singer. Her father, Ferdynand Feldman, was an actor. Sadly, her father passed away when Krystyna was only three years old.
After World War I, Lemberg became part of Poland again. Krystyna's mother helped her begin acting lessons. She studied at an acting studio in Lwów. In 1937, Krystyna finished her studies at the State Institute of Theater Arts in Warsaw.
Acting on Stage
Soon after graduating, Krystyna started her acting career at the Grand Theatre in Lwów. In 1939, she was set to join a theater in Lutsk. However, World War II began, and she returned to Lwów. The city was then under Soviet control.
During the war, Krystyna joined the Home Army, a Polish resistance group. She worked as a messenger. In 1944, she returned to the stage in Lwów. She even played a male character named Staszek in a play called Wesele (The Wedding).
After the war, Lwów became part of the Soviet Union. Krystyna moved to Poland and settled in Poznań. She performed in many theater productions there. She also acted in theaters in other Polish cities like Łódź, Szczecin, Opole, and Kraków.
In the 1980s, Krystyna faced some difficulties. She signed a letter supporting the freedom of Adam Mickiewicz University. Because of this, the government's Security Service watched her closely. They checked her mail and searched her home. Despite these challenges, she continued her acting career. From 1983, she performed at the Teatr Nowy in Poznań.
Film and TV Roles
Krystyna Feldman started her film career in 1953 with the movie Celuloza. She played many supporting roles in different films. She became very famous for playing an elderly painter named Nikifor in the movie Mój Nikifor (My Nikifor).
For her role as Nikifor, Krystyna won many important awards. She received the Best Actress award at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia in 2004. She also won several international awards for this role.
Krystyna was also well-known for her role as the grandmother in the popular TV comedy show Świat według Kiepskich. This role made her very popular with a wide audience.
Later Life
Krystyna Feldman passed away in her home in Poznań in 2007. She was 90 years old. She died from lung cancer.
