The Kula, also known as the Kurnu, were an Aboriginal Australian people. They lived in the state of New South Wales.

Kula Country

The Kula people lived in a large area of land. Experts like Norman Tindale believe their territory covered about 4,900 square miles (12,700 square kilometers). This land was mostly on the western side of the Darling River.

Their country stretched from near the town of Bourke to a place called Dunlop. They also lived near the Warrego River. Their lands included areas like Enngonia and Barringun, which is close to the border with Queensland. To the west, their territory reached near Yantabulla.

Over time, the Kula people have been known by several different names. These names might have come from different spellings or how different groups recorded them. Some of these names include:
