Early Life and High School Basketball
Kyle Alexander was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. He grew up in Milton, Ontario. He went to Orangeville Prep in Orangeville, Ontario.
When he was younger, Kyle played soccer and volleyball. He only started playing basketball in grade 11. While at Orangeville Prep, he was roommates with Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray. Kyle also played AAU basketball with a team called CIA Bounce. He teamed up with Jamal Murray again there.
College Career at Tennessee
Kyle Alexander played college basketball for the Tennessee Volunteers for four years. In his final year, he was a senior. He averaged 7.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He also had 1.7 blocks per game.
Kyle helped his team reach the Sweet Sixteen in the college tournament. He was very good at shooting, making 61.4 percent of his shots. He also made 42.9 percent of his three-point shots.
Professional Basketball Journey
Starting with Sioux Falls Skyforce (2019–2020)
After the 2019 NBA draft, Kyle Alexander was not chosen by any team. However, he joined the Miami Heat for the 2019 NBA Summer League. On July 15, 2019, the Heat signed him to a training camp contract. After training camp, Kyle joined the Sioux Falls Skyforce. This team is connected to the Miami Heat in the NBA G League.
Playing for the Miami Heat (2020)
On January 15, 2020, Kyle Alexander signed a special contract with the Miami Heat. This was a "two-way" contract, meaning he could play for both the Heat and the Skyforce. The next day, it was announced that he had a knee injury.
He played his first NBA game on August 6, 2020. He played for one minute and got one rebound. This was during a game against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Miami Heat made it to the 2020 NBA Finals that year. They played against the Los Angeles Lakers but lost in 6 games.

Personal Life and Family
Kyle Alexander's parents are Joseph and Audrey Alexander. His father, Joseph, also played college basketball. He played for the Niagara Purple Eagles from 1982 to 1986.
Kyle has two sisters, named Kayla and Kesia. His sister Kayla is also a professional basketball player. She was part of the Canada women's national basketball team. Kayla played for Team Canada at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. She also played for the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA.
