La Punt Chamues-ch is a cool town in the Maloja Region of Switzerland. It's located in the canton of Graubünden. The name used to be Ponte-Campovasto in Italian until 1943.

History of La Punt Chamues-ch
The town of La Punt Chamues-ch has a long history. It was first mentioned around the years 1137-1139. Back then, it was known as Campolovasto. Later, in 1244, people started calling it Ponte.
Geography and Location
La Punt Chamues-ch covers an area of about 63.2 square kilometers. A big part of this land, about 33%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 15% of the area. Only a small part, about 1%, has buildings or roads. The rest of the land, more than half, is made up of rivers, glaciers, or mountains.
This town is part of the Maloja Region. It's actually made up of two smaller towns that have grown together. La Punt is on the north side of the valley. This is where the Albula Pass road ends. The main road (Road 27), a railway line with a station, and the Inn river all pass through La Punt.
Chamues-ch is on the south side of the valley. It's at the end of the Val Chamuera valley. It sits at the foot of a mountain called Piz Mezzaun. Both La Punt and Chamues-ch have hotels and shops. The buildings for the town government and fire department are located between the two parts.
People and Population
La Punt Chamues-ch has a population of about 686 people. Around 21.7% of the people living here are from other countries. Over the last 10 years, the number of people living in the town has grown by about 4.4%.
In 2000, the population was almost evenly split between males and females. About 48.8% were male and 51.2% were female.
Most adults in La Punt Chamues-ch have a good education. About 82.3% of people aged 25-64 have finished high school or gone on to higher education. This could be a university or a special college.

Important Historical Buildings
La Punt Chamues-ch has some very important historical buildings. These are listed as Swiss heritage sites of national significance. They include the Albertini-Houses N. 324/325 and the Chesa Merleda. Both of these are old, grand houses built in the 17th century. They show the special Engadin style of architecture.
Transportation in La Punt Chamues-ch
Getting around La Punt Chamues-ch is easy. The town has its own railway station, called La Punt Chamues-ch. This station is on the Bever–Scuol-Tarasp line. Trains run regularly from here to other towns. You can travel to places like St. Moritz, Landquart, Scuol-Tarasp, and Pontresina.
