Bever is a small town in the Maloja Region in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. It's a lovely place where people speak Romansh and German.

History of Bever
Bever was first mentioned a long, long time ago, in the year 1139. Back then, it was called ad Bevero.
Geography of Bever
Bever covers an area of about 45.65 square kilometers (about 17.6 square miles). A big part of its land, about 15%, is covered by forests. Another 15% is used for farming. Most of the land (over 68%) is made of mountains and other natural areas that aren't used for farming or buildings.
The town is located on the Inn River. There's also a nearby artificial lake called Lej da Gravatscha. Bever includes the main village and a smaller settlement called Spinas, which is at the entrance to the Albula Tunnel. Before 1943, the town was known as Bevers.
People in Bever
Bever has a population of about 627 people (as of December 2015). A small part of the population, about 17.4%, are people from other countries.
In 2013, about 14.8% of the people in Bever were children and teenagers (0–19 years old). Most of the population, 68.6%, were adults (20–64 years old). About 16.6% were seniors (over 64 years old).

By 1910, only about 59% spoke Romansh as their main language. After World War II, German became the main language. However, in the 1990s, the number of Romansh speakers started to increase again.

Transportation in Bever
Bever has two train stations: Bever and Spinas. These stations are on the Rhaetian Railway lines. You can catch trains from here to places like St. Moritz, Scuol-Tarasp, Chur, Landquart, and Pontresina.
