History of La Salle
La Salle was officially planned and laid out in 1899. It was named after René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle, who was a famous French explorer. He explored parts of North America a long time ago, between 1643 and 1687. A post office has been open in La Salle since 1900.
