Lac Beauvert, also known as Beauvert Lake, is a beautiful small lake located in Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada. It covers an area of about 0.4 square kilometers (0.15 square miles).
Discovering Lac Beauvert
This lovely lake is found right next to the Jasper Park Lodge, which is a well-known hotel. It's also just 3 kilometers (about 1.8 miles) northeast of the town of Jasper. Lac Beauvert is a popular spot for visitors to enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the park.
How Lac Beauvert Was Formed
Lac Beauvert is actually a small part of what was once a much, much bigger lake! Long ago, a huge lake covered the entire Jasper valley. Over time, this large lake shrank. Lac Beauvert is one of the remaining pieces of that ancient, giant lake. Other lakes nearby, like Patricia Lake, Pyramid Lake, Lake Edith, and Lake Annette, were also once part of this same massive body of water.
